Duplicate link created when copy and paste a URL in iMessage

Still happening and still annoying.

How can we make it stop??

Did this ever get resolved? Drives me crazy.

Any solutions yet folks? These duplicate messages of internet links are more than annoying, they’re taking up precious space on my phone!

Please fix!!!!

It happens to every contact, every link. When highlighting ANY link, and then pasting it, iOS duplicates it.

Even updating to iOS 17, we have the same issue. You'd think they would fix this by now.

So I see this issue is still not resolved. I do a lot of online meetings (zoom/google meets) and each time someone texts the meeting link or emails it t me, when I copy and paste it to forward it, it does the same as the picture above. -_- C'mon Apple

Restart your iPhone - Apple Support - See if restarting your iPhone resolves this issue. Restarting can refresh the iOS and can resolve strange issues like this.

Does this happen with links from all websites or just from YouTube?

Does this happen with links copied from any location? For example, only links from Safari, or are links pasted from other browsers or apps having the same behavior?

Does this occur with every contact you try to send a message to, or just one contact specifically?

Does not happen when I copy from website or YouTube on the iPhone directly to email or text.

Happens when coping from a saved IOS note whether the URL is in the middle of a paragraph or only the URL is pulled across.

I have shut the phone down many times over the last several years. That does not fix it.
