I've lost two months worth of emails today in by InBox for my mac.com account. I need them !!!!!!!!! Any ideas why only these emails are missing --- and why I am not getting an emails today. Panic.
I found the problem but it does not make sense to me. By digging into every article I could find, and thanking you for your suggestions ....... the solution was found under the menu item VIEW and then turning OFF FILTER --- which I have no idea how I possibly turned ON.

Safely Recovering Deleted eMails:
Where to Look:
Check your Deleted and Archived folders.
Export from Another Device:
Boot up another device associated to this account, making sure it does not connect to the internet upon boot (perhaps powering off your router?). While WiFi is off, try exporting your mail. Then, import them once all is backup and syncing.
Your mac.com email messages ought to be available on iCloud Mail:
Check its Trash and Junk folders.
I’ve discovered my email “created a Smart email called Today that had the missing emails. Following Support advice I went to Mailbox menu and deleted the Smart Mailbox because it said I wouldn’t lose emails. Now I’m on Rebuild so will see.
