There appears to be some precedent for Apple blocking third-party adapters that do not meet a certain standard. (That standard is likely related to increased protection from Direct Memory Access attack.)

The AcQuantia/Marvell PCIe slot 10G Ethernet adapters sold early on use the AQ107 chip, which appeared to be the same one used in the iMac Pro.

At Monterey, these aftermarket adapters stopped working, unless they feature the AQ107S chip on board. the new ones sold today feature the AQ107S chip.

Thank you. Mine is not Belkin but a reputable brand. Also it was reported as working on web sites.

Interestingly MAC address is 00000000000 on my adapter. That is usually associated with driver incompatibility or similar.

The one I use was half the price of Belkin. Unfortunately i might need to return it and get belkin. I have tested it twice at home on two different routers. same issue. Tomorrow I will test it at work. I am suspecting a DHCP issue but also tested it with fixed IP number, same problem. Running Ventura by the way.

Again thank you.
