Messing around the contents of the fcpbundle in the Finder is always a risky business. Please refrain from it, or do make a complete backup first.

With the library open in FCP, select it in the Browser Sidebar, and do File->Open Library->From Backup...

and choose a recent version but one the predates the crash. Hopefully it will have its structure intact.

Rename the library with a convenient name that lets you know it's the new one, but don't use the long timestamp format of the backups, to avoid confusion.

If the media for the library happened to external, this should be all that is needed, and you should be able to pick up where you left off.

If the media is internal to the library, you will have a bit more work to do. The library recreated from backup will have missing media all over.

NOW, you will need to go inside the original library bundle.

COPY (don't move) the contents of the folders pertaining to each event, to a location outside the library.

Then in FCP, with the new library open, select it, and do File->Relink Files..., select Missing, then Locate, and point to the folder where you have copied your media, then click Relink Files

Where exactly is the library and media stored? On the system drive? On the LaCie? How is the LaCie formatted? Connect the external directly to the computer if it's going through the USB2 hub, which should be recycled.

It really would have been helpful to see the contents of the Video event and see how the project appears in there.

Whenever the application crashes you should reset the preferences. Hold ⌥ ⌘ as you double click the library you want to open to launch the application. A dialog appears asking you if you want to Delete Preferences. If you don't do this while double-clicking your library, the application will open a default Untitled  library.

If the library is an ExFAT formatted drive it’s probably been damaged. The drive must be either HFS+ or APFS if it’s an SSD. IT best to get the library into a correctly formatted drive. Never go inside the library. Everything you want to do there can be done from inside the application. The corrupted projected should be deleted and rebuilt.

Please give this information. The report below doesn't say how the LaCie is formatted. How is it formatted? Is it connected through the USB2 hub? Connect it directly to the computer. Is the media internal to the library or outside the library?

Open the library. Select the event. Don't touch anything inside the event. With the event selected export an XML file. Upload it to WeTransfer or somewhere it can be accessed and post the link here. Don't send any media.

And you have Chrome and its evil keystone minions. They are well known to hurt FCP severely.

Uninstall cmm.

Uninstall Chrome and its keystone things. See https://chromeisbad.com for an explanation of what they do, and how to remove them completely.

After doing that, it is necessary to delete FCP and download a fresh copy from the App Store.

Note: this will not save your library if it is corrupted, but is essential to get FCP into working condition.

Feb 25, 2023 6:36 AM in response to Pravin__1109

I don't know if there is a solution to recover this particular project. Maybe, just maybe, if you can get your mac to a place where at least FCP can work correctly (and that requires at the very least the three steps I mentioned before: completely uninstall cmm; completely uninstall chrome and its keystone things; delete and reinstall FCP), there is something you can do.

I am not very hopeful about your specific project, sorry.

At least, there will be some lessons learned for the future: always use HFS+ or APFS volumes for your libraries; do not install any cleaners; avoid chrome; AND let FCP do its backups. The backups are so small, as they do not include the media, just the structure of your projects. A single backup in the Movies/Final Cut Backups folder would have probably been enough.
