Seriously! These devices are the absolute worst ever!! The only devices on my home network which won't stay connected and they vary when Apple Update their Software! Horrible horrible horrible!!
How can they just stay connected? Imagine sitting listening to music and one of the ones I have set as a stero pair keeps dropping!!! WHAT CAN I DO?? I AM ANGRY TO SAY THE LEAST!

This thread is older, but I wanted to chime in that as an Apple user of most tech products for 20 years I'll say that the HomePod Mini I own is the biggest disappointment I've had from Apple. It constantly drops out when watching videos, listening to music/podcasts, etc. It also completely disconnects if I need to add a Bluetooth device to my laptop for any reason and is a complete hassle to reconnect. Looking for a fix I've read countless forum advice, watched videos, and discussed in-person with Apple associates, and I have never identified a remedy. If anyone at Apple wants to help me, I welcome it... please.

Home pod is such a good product Idea, but lacks the software for a viable product. I feed bad for those, like myself that had trust in Apple to produce a plug&play product, which has cause countless hours of frustration. I don't want to reset my homepods for the X time... but here we go.
I don’t have mesh but I tell you, my HomePod minis don’t disconnect. I’m twenty feet from one 500 speed stock router. These are screenshots of my settings:

I am ALWAYS running the latest software on them. Plus the fix is generally to fully reset them both and re add them! Imagine the frustration!

Hi bgmeek, in my case the Private WiFi Address feature is not enabled so it would not appear to be a possible solution for my issues. Thanks for the reply and information though. Cheers!

My Apple Pod continuously drops. I've had it for 5 years, and it just doesn't want to play nice with everything else Apple that I have. Please, provide an update for it.

Been frustrated. Have 7 minis all close to each other in connected rooms and like to have them all on for ambiance and seems to have worked for me!!!
I wrote in another post that my HomePods disconnect but that was an isolated case that I nixed with my methods and not bgmeek’s method of exposing your devices to hacking
No other speakers but HomePods play Dolby Atmos wirelessly.
Wondering if something bad could happen if someone gets your WiFi password watching you on infrared and connects to your network and you have private address turned off.
Wondering about having your passcode, WiFi password, Apple ID password and your phone cloned and getting private address turned off is the last hacker hurdle to jump
