iCloud Contacts suddenly wrong on my Mac; right everywhere else
I'm running MacOS Ventura 13.2.1 on a MacBook Pro. This morning I noticed that the names of all the people in my Messages app were missing. I looked at Contacts on my Mac and all those contacts are gone! I logged into iCloud and they are all still there. They are also present on my iPhone. Closing Contacts and reopening it didn't help; nor did a system reboot. I tried turning off Contacts and back on from System Setting - Me - iCloud. When I turned it off, all Contacts went away; when I turned it back on the wrong list showed up again. I tried changing the sync'ing frequency for the iCloud account in Contacts - Settings - Accounts from Automatic to Every Minute but that didn't help either. I also tried disabling and re-enabling the iCloud Account but that didn't help either.
One thing that may or may not be related - a few days ago on my phone I noticed that I had hundreds (literally) of Dup'd contacts. I have no idea how that happened. I selected the Merge Duplicates option but that didn't seem to remove many of them (if any). I thought that that must have removed some valid contacts but it seems not to be the case. The Dup's are still on my phone and on iCloud.com, but none of the contacts are missing.
Any suggestions?
