You’ll need to discuss this with whomever is holding the supervisory lock, or with Apple.

Seems you might have acquired a lost or stolen Mac, or one that was not unenrolled when transferred to you.

It’s not going to be particularly useful to a buyer with that lock set, and it’ll keep showing enrollment status.

There’s nothing we can do to help you remove that. Again, check with whoever is holding the enrollment.

If you can prove your original purchase sufficient to convince to Apple of your ownership (original purchase receipts, etc), then they will consider removing the supervisory lock.

there’s no hacky work around?

AFAIK, no workaround.

i don’t know why this is even on here like i said i got it for christmas as a present from my dad

I would talk to your dad. maybe he knows why there is an MDM installed. maybe he can unlock it for you. and if he got it second hand, maybe he can contact the person he received it from and ask them.

unfortunately i can’t access the terminal outside of recovery mode because it’s stuck in the setup screen, i tried it and it didn’t work i will try again

If this worked as said, I guess MDM is a useless tool that should not be installed by organizations. If an organization's computers are protected by MDM and a thief can override the MDM protection by just a

couple of lines of code then I think MDM is dead and useless.
