hello like 2 years ago i got a macbook for christmas and i’ve been using it fine without issue and now that i’ve factory reset it to sell it, a thing called remote management keeps popping up and now the guy doesn’t want it anymore. what can i do?
You’ll need to discuss this with whomever is holding the supervisory lock, or with Apple.
Seems you might have acquired a lost or stolen Mac, or one that was not unenrolled when transferred to you.
It’s not going to be particularly useful to a buyer with that lock set, and it’ll keep showing enrollment status.
There’s nothing we can do to help you remove that. Again, check with whoever is holding the enrollment.
If you can prove your original purchase sufficient to convince to Apple of your ownership (original purchase receipts, etc), then they will consider removing the supervisory lock.

I don't know ANYTHING about MDM, so forgive me if this is wrong. but couldn't someone use MDM to restrict access to terminal?

unfortunately i can’t access the terminal outside of recovery mode because it’s stuck in the setup screen, i tried it and it didn’t work i will try again
yeah it didn’t work again when i try the second park of the terminal code it doesn’t seem to be doing anything
i can access the terminal in recovery mode but cant figure out how to either type the code in right or it doesn’t wanna work because it keeps saying no such file or directory
Are you saying when you type in this line into the Terminal you are getting a directory error?
cd /var/db/ConfigurationProfiles
it says no such file or directory (new edit, i was typing it in with no space, when i type it with a space it doesn’t say anything at all)
The cd command followed by /var/db/ConfigurationProfiles just changes the directory. If it says nothing that means it has changed to the directory. You have to type in the next line.
