Stolen iPhone

Good evening,

my iPhone 13 was stolen on February 18th. After having immediately marked it as lost, the following day I reported everything to the police. At this point, the phone was offline and it was only possible for me to see the last location on Find My. I then blocked my SIM card with my phone operator. The next step was to remotely erase the device: since it was turned off, the erase was pending until today. I indeed got an email from Apple that confirmed that the erasing process was completed late this afternoon. I immediately checked the position of the device on Find My, which was still the same. The device is still offline, but the erasing process is marked as completed. Now, some questions came up to me:

  1. Since the erasing process was finally done, does it mean that the device was turned on and connected to wifi or mobile network? If yes, how is it possible since the SIM card was blocked?
  2. I still see the device on the Find My app, but I don't see it on the list of devices connected to my ID Apple anymore. Does this mean that it is no longer possible to trace the iPhone? Or is it because the device was erased? But then, I should have not received an email... right?
  3. If the erase process was finally completed, does it mean that the last location would be updated as well? This was particularly strange because the location I see on Find My is the same one I last saw when the phone got stolen, but maybe it's simply because the person could be living in that location.

Can anyone help me?

See this article:

If your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch is lost or stolen - Apple Support

If you erase a device that had iOS 15, iPadOS 15, or later installed, you can still use Find My to locate the device or play a sound on it. Otherwise, you won't be able to locate the device or play a sound after you erase it.

The iPhone was likely connected to Wi-Fi.

If the iPhone is no longer associated with you Apple ID the thief can do a DFU and make it his own. He will not have access to your data, that is erased, but he can use the phone or sell it.

Never remove your iPhone from your list of devices listed under your ID unless you no longer care if someone else uses it.

Thank you for your answer.

Iā€™m pretty sure I did not remove my iPhone from the ID Apple. What I did is to buy a new one and connect it to my ID, but without removing the old one. If I did remove it, would I still receive emails about the stolen device? Iā€™m starting thinking I did something wrong while connecting my actual iPhoneā€¦

Hereā€™s what I see on find my (see picture). Would you say itā€™s no longer connected to my ID Apple?
