Why are prices hidden in the app store?

Does anyone have any logical answer for why Apple uses “Get” instead of “Free” or “Free+” for apps that can be enhanced by purchasing upgrades many apps include?

the only reasons I can come up with are simply to increase sales by hiding prices or it’s just one more language alteration Apple seems to enjoy adding to their increasingly less user friendly devices.

it would be so cool if they would make these communication devices easy to use to make at least this area of daily life less complicated instead of adding to the complexity of the insane world we live in today.

Apps that have In-app purchases available say that under either the price or "Get". You can then swipe down to the information section and see exactly what the charges are. As there are frequently a lot of different options, it would be difficult, if not impossible, to put all the information on one little button.

Why "Get" is Used in the App Store:

When purchased, you are essentially leasing them, not owning them --there's nothing free about it. This is because even no-cost apps have the ability to purchase in-app purchases.
