When I choose the PBS App it says it is not supported on this device. I have Apple TV 2nd generation. What’s going on? Worked well up to today.

Just 4 days ago, PBS decided to end support for legacy models Apple TV.
PBS and PBS Kids apps no longer available on legacy Apple TV - PBS Help Center
You can still use AirPlay for it, though.

Replace with new - your ATV is obsolete, running old, unsupported tech.
