Artwork taking a very long time to sync

I recently bought a new computer (DELL, Windows 11). My iPod previously synced to a computer (HP) using Windows 10 as an operating system. On Thursday, I started to sync the iPod to the new computer. It took about 3 hours to download my 23,000 songs (as I expected), then my computer screen advised that it was syncing the artwork. Some 22 hours later on Friday, it is still syncing artwork. I looked on the iPod to see if everything had downloaded and it looks like many tracks have downloaded but are grey, which I am assuming are the tracks still awaiting the artwork. This doesn't seem normal. I don't want to disconnect the iPod in case that creates another problem. Can someone please advise a solution? Thanks.

Thanks for posting in the Apple Support Communities john in toronto,

If you're syncing your music via iCloud, the steps on the following page may be helpful: If songs are missing from your music library after you turn on Sync Library

If you need more help, providing additional information and context may increase the likelihood that community members are able to provide a specific and relevant response that help you resolve the issue.

For example, Are you an Apple Music subscriber? Or were songs downloaded from your past purchases in iTunes?

Cheers!
