iMac M1 Ventura - Magic Keyboard issues with any media player

Hello.

Ever since I bought my iMac M1, I have been having trouble with the keyboard.

I use Spotify and Apple Podcast while I work, and I've noticed that, out of nowhere, the keyboard seems to interfere with the commands on both media players. If I type, any random combination of keys will cause the song/episode to play back, jump forward, to rewind. I cannot use the computer and listen to anything, because whenever I type, this happens. It's impossible.

I've tried reinstalling the system and it worked for a while, but it all came back to the same issue without any actual changes on my end - it just happens, out of nowhere.

Would anyone know how to solve this? It's driving me mental.

Thanks for your support and suggestions, everyone, I truly appreciate it.

It turns out, it is the Magic Keyboard. It seems it arrived damaged, hence the continuous issues I've been facing ever since I bought it.

I got another keyboard from another brand with the sole purpose of running some tests, have been using it for a couple of days now and didn't have any problems.

I'll go to an iStore next week and deliver my Apple keyboard, as I have an active warranty.

Have a great week.

Thanks, thats why Apple has Additional Text addition icon...

Delete this file & restart...

Apple hid the Users' Library folders...

Method 1:

1 From the Finder, select the Go menu at top of the screen, and choose Go to Folder.

2 In the window that opens, enter ~/Library, and click Go.

Restart.

Thanks to Jack-19…

It may be wise to run SMART Utility to check the drives' health.

That didn't do anything. :/ I've also tried reinstalling Ventura, and installing Spotify again. As usual, whilst typing my work, it jumped back to another track. So reinstalling the system also didn't work this time. Which is odd, 'cause that seemed to fix the issue last time. Can't be only me having this problem. I'm really frustrated and don't know what else to do haha.

Hey, thanks again for your support, I appreciate it.

I've had some more issues with the keyboard this morning. It randomly added the letter ç (a Portuguese keyboard) to my text. I've checked the keyboard itself to see if the key was stuck - nothing. Then I rebooted on safe mode, as you previously suggested, and it went back to normal. Now it's with the same issue again. It made me wonder for a minute if it wasn't a hardware issue, and unfortunately, I don't have a backup keyboard to check.

I've attached the report from EtreCheck.
