I just want to allow Acrobat to access my Downloads folder, and I can't seem to do this because there is no "+" sign at the bottom of my Disk Access system settings. What is the issue here? Can anyone enlighten me?

I double-click the file attachment in the email. It opens up Acrobat. I select the "upload to cloud" icon, and I get a message that Acrobat doesn't have permission to access my downloads folder. I go to Disk Access, and there is no option to select the Downloads folder. I scroll to the bottom of the preferences pane and there is only a "-" sign, no "+" sign for me to choose the Downloads folder to allow Acrobat to access it. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ 'sup with that?

Because that is not how Apple made it work. Applications will ask for permission the first time they need access.

The user then grants it, or doesn't.

As I wrote before, if you try to save a file to the Downloads folder, you will see an alert an be asked if you allow or not.

Or as P. Phillips mentioned, you can grant it "Full Disk Access"; then Acrobat can open and save files anywhere that you, the user, have access to.
