IMAP server works for hotmail account, SMTP server does not.
I have set up my hotmail account to receive emails using the Apple mail app. However, I cannot send emails. I am using the following settings:
IMAP:
Username: my whole email (username@hotmail.com)
Password: the email password
Host Name: imap-mail.outlook.com
Port: 993
Use TLS/SSL
SMTP:
Username: my whole email (username@hotmail.com)
Password: the email password
Host Name: smtp-mail.outlook.com
Port: 587
Use TLS/SSL
Authentication: Password
It returns "unable to verify account name or password" but I use the same credentials and Incoming server works fine. What could be the problem?
