Rechargeable batteries AA
Standard rechargeable AA batteries don’t work in the mouse and keyboard in the imac 2011. And Apple is not selling them anymore. Any suggestions ?

With some batteries, the bump on the + end is not tall enough to reach the contact inside the keyboard, Try rolling a small piece of aluminium foil into a small ball and placing in in the keyboard where the + end of the battery goes, then insert the batteries.

Standard AA work and fit, but not rechargeable. Sizing seems slightly different and they simply don’t work. I have tried 2 different kinds.
There is no special requirement for the batteries used in either the Magic Mouse 1 or original wireless keyboard. I used either Alkaline or rechargeable AA batteries in both my keyboard and mouse.
