Hello pearphoneenthusiast,

Thank you for reaching out to Apple Support Communities.

Do you have automatic switching disabled on any of your devices? These steps can guide you:

"Turn off automatic switching

If you don't want your AirPods to switch automatically, you can turn off automatic switching on your iPhone, iPad, Mac, or Apple TV.

On your iPhone or iPad

  1. With your AirPods in your ears and connected to your iPhone or iPad, go to Settings > Bluetooth. Alternatively, you can go to Settings > [your AirPods].
  2. Tap the More Info button  next to your AirPods in the list of devices.
  3. Tap Connect to This iPhone [or iPad].
  4. Tap When Last Connected to This iPhone [or iPad].
  5. To turn on this feature again, tap Automatically.

On your Mac

  1. With your AirPods in your ears and connected to your Mac, choose Apple menu  > System Settings, then click Bluetooth.
  2. Click the Options button next to your AirPods in the list of devices.
  3. From the Connect to This Mac menu, choose When Last Connected to This Mac.
  4. To turn this feature on again, choose Automatically."

More details can be found here: Switch your AirPods to another device

If the issue persists, can you probe a few more details? Are you signed into the same Apple ID on all of your devices? What is your exact macOS and IOS versions? Also, have you reset your AirPods?

Cheers!
