Why is Podcast App taking up so much Doc&Data memory?

I have an iPhone SE (old edition, it's an old phone) with 16 GB, running ios 15.6.1. Given the tiny memory, every MB counts.

For some reason, a number of apps take up far more in the Documents & Data section as makes any sense. I use the Podcast app only when connected to the internet and I download no episodes. I save them and then listen to them when connected to the internet. Yet the Documents&Data section under iPhone Storage -> Podcasts has 29.9 MB under "App size" (which I understand) and 232.1 MB under "Documents and Data." To repeat, I save episodes but never download them, and I did check to ensure that under "Downloaded" it says "No Downloaded Episodes."

In that case, what is taking up hundreds of MB of storage under Documents and Data for the app?
