Blue Yeti Mic Not Recognized as Input
Hello. I have a M1 iMac running Ventura 13.2.1 and a Blue Yeti mic plugged in through a non-powered USB --> Lightning converter. I've been using the mic with Microsoft Teams, Garageband, Quicktime, and several other applications that work with mic inputs with no issue since September 2022.
The other day, the mic suddenly wasn't recognized. When I went to Settings --> Sound, the mic isn't listed as an input option, but *is* there as an output. I've gone through every conceivable troubleshooting step I knew or could find online to get the computer to recognize it again as an input with no success:
- Unplugged the mic and plugged it back in.
- Tried a different cord.
- Tested it on another computer (works with no problem on my wife's Macbook Air and a HP machine running Windows.
- Pretty confident at this point te issue is a setting within the Mac.
- Checked Settings --> Privacy and Security to make sure every app that would need permission to access the mic had it (✅)
- Attempted to configure mic in the Audio Midi Setup (all 3 channels listed as outputs, with no options to configure - but the computer sees it's there still).
- Checked if there were any updates available to the mic/drivers through Logitech's proprietary app (app can't access the mic, asks me to replug it in).
- Removed all Logitech/Blue/Sherpa software from the computer.
- Restarted computer with mic plugged in; restarted without mic plugged in; shut down and powered back on with mic in and out; powered off and unplugged for several minutes and rebooted.
- Rebooted in safe mode.
- Reinstalled Ventura.
- Deleted Teams and Garageband (the two apps I use the mic with the most) to see if I could remove some rogue setting.
As mentioned, I'm fairly confident the problem is with the iMac and/or a setting somewhere. The iMac definitely identifies the mic as a USB device, just not the option to use it as an input any longer. Couldn't really find anyone having the same issue in any of these forums or elsewhere online, and apologies if I may have missed it.
