Brand new MacBook Pro M2 14" - Keyboard appears to be rubbing on screen when closed

After only a few weeks, I've started to notice that the spacebar and other keys are starting to rub on the screen when the MacBook is closed, leaving marks. I'm very careful with it when I travel, but with the tolerances so low, I'm getting concerned that this could become a serious problem.

Any recommendations on an ultra-thin microfiber cloth that may help prevent further damage? I should have kept that flimsy sheet that came with it, but I'm not sure that would really solve this problem. I think two or three of them together might have.

TIA for any advice.

Seems you might want to consult the experts, and a new Mac may have a warranty / Apple Care / intact.

Find your Mac model name and serial number – Apple Support

You can enter a serial number in the webpage below to see what info is available:

Check Your Service and Support Coverage - Apple Support

And / or

One stop for technical support, Apple hardware service, and software support.

Call Apple Support at 1-800-APLCARE (or use the app)

AppleCare Products - Apple

The experts there would look at the Mac, and give you their advice.

Likely the only thing that should touch the screen is the cleaning cloth that comes with Mac: Else maybe Apple's Screen Polishing Cloth - Apple
