Apps won’t update

So, I’ve noticed with a couple of my apps that they are behind on updates that should be compatible with my device, and that I did have on my old phone. I have plenty of storage left on my phone, auto updates are on, I don’t even have the option to manually update them. I tried deleting some of the apps and reinstalling them but they only went to older versions, and I can’t try to re update them. Anyone know how I can fix this? The apps still function—it’s just annoying, and they could be working a lot better.
