When my mother text me, it comes from her iPhone to my iPhone as an email instead of a text message. It lands in my outlook account as her phone number, followed by @vzwpix.com

How do we get this to stop happening? It only happens when she sends to me… Not when I send to her. We have gone through contacts, the message section in settings, etc. Please help!

Separate message threads between iPhone and iPad. i get separate message threads from my mom depending on if she is messaging from her phone or her iPad. I checked her settings and they are the same as mine. She has her phone number on her iPad to send and receive messages. When I check info on the message thread from her ipad it shows her email only as the contact info. Any advice please.

Imessage defaulting to saved contacts email instead of phone number my daughters contact card has her phone number(iphone) and email saved. For some reason when i go to send her a message in our text thread, the text box says "Text Message - SMS" instead of the usual "iMessage". When I go to text her in a blank new message and bring up her contact it has defaulted to her email instead of her phone number. No matter how many times i click her phone number eventually it defaults back to her email. (both of our phones are up to date on the latest ios, she has an iphone 12 and i have an iphone 15pro max , she is also on my family apple plan)

If you both have iMessage enabled it will come as an iMessage. This may be happening because she does not have iMessage enabled and also does not have MMS enabled. She can enable iMessage in Settings/Messages.
