My phone suddenly showed the recovery screen when trying to charge the device. I connected my device to my Mac and it gives me the option to update the device or restore. I don't have enough storage available to do the update, and when selecting restore it requires the latest update for the device to restore. What can I do to fix this problem??? Help!!!

You should work to free up local storage on your phone. If you don't do this the phone will eventually become unusable. See these links:

Note: deleted photos are not necessarily deleted from the phone. You may have to go to Photos > Albums > Recently Deleted and delete them from there to truly free up storage.
