In the Preview app, "Scale to fit" no longer works.

If I try to print a PDF and it's larger than the paper size, I used to be able to select "Scale to fit" and the image would shrink to fit into the chosen paper size. This no longer works; the scale remains at 100% and can only be changed manually (by typing in another number). Neither "Print entire image" or "Fill entire paper" have any effect on the image in the print-preview window, nor on the resultant print out. I have attached a screenshot.

This just recently started happening -- in the past few days.

Thanks

Being curious, I just tried this with my 2023 M2 Pro Mac mini, running macOS Ventura 13.3. In my case I have an HP OfficeJet Pro 6970 multi-function printer.

When I select "Scale to Fit" the preview does change, and the resultant printout comes out scaled. Not sure why it is not working properly for your Canon printer.

I suggest that you double-check with Canon Support to see if you running their latest print driver that supports Ventura.

In addition, you may want to perform a "factory default" reset of your printer. Lastly, you can try resetting your Mac's printing system.

I started with the Solve printing problems on Mac - Apple Support page & when I tried to turn off Print Dialog Extensions, I found that there was no “use generic printer features” checkbox for this printer. (My work printer has one & it is checked.) The "driver version" said "3.0" which seemed a bit odd, so I went out to the Canon site & found the latest driver, which is v. 10.19.14 & installed it. Lo and behold, now the printer works.

The new driver is dated Mar 23, 2023.

Anyway, thanks again for the suggestions!
