Okay, there is one way to test for JIO users or any users in particular if you are on SA or not.
Only drawback is that now you cant force the iphone to look for SA with iOS 16.4 as they removed the toggle for many carriers.
Attaching a screenshot for reference

Yes, i found that Jio is now deploying 5G SA by default. There is no need of any toggle switch. iOS has removed it and there was no news for it so it created confusion for so many people who didnt not check the field test mode. Turn on 5G mobile data and check the field test mode (*3001#12345#*), then check connection type its showing 5G SA. Before it was not showing just after the update. Now i check again its showing. I think you should restart tour device once after the update or reset the network settings.

I have 5g activated by my operator Jio. But after 5g stand-alone option was taken out, I am not able to use. Request developers to consider of bringing this option again.
Developers have nothing to do with it. The cellular settings are programmed by the carrier, not by Apple developers. And if you have no 5G SA option that is because your carrier’s network is ALL 5G SA, so there is no need for a switch to turn on what is already on. 5G hybrid, also called 5G NSA, was an interim protocol that used LTE to set up 5G connections. It existed solely to allow deployment of 5G quickly, before full 5G networks could be set up, and was always intended to go away. Now it has been retired on most carriers’ networks.
It’s been fixed on iOS 16.4.1, even without the 5G standalone toggle you will be able to get Jio 5G on your iPhone.
If it doesn’t work, try resetting network settings, I did the same and it’s working for me now.
To reset network settings:
Go to Settings> General> Transfer or Reset iPhone> Reset> Reset Network Settings.
Hope this helps. Check attached screenshot for confirmation. Yes, I’m running on Jio carrier.
The cellular network settings are provided by the carrier by uploading a Carrier Settings file; it has nothing to do with Apple. You can check that you have the latest carrier settings by going to Settings/General/About and waiting for a few seconds; if there is an update available you will be prompted to install it. And if you don’t see a switch for 5G SA (I do see it in 16.4, my carrier is T-Mobile USA) it could be that it is always on. I think you can check with field test mode. The long term goal is to make all 5G networks standalone, which would make the switch unnecessary.
I suggest you read more of the thread you posted to. Others have reported that all JIO 5G is now SA mode, so it is on all the time and thus doesn’t need a switch.
So the problem actually is with the providers and not the iOS update. Providers need to enable SA on iOS 16.4 for the users to be able to use it. Providers like JIO would need to verify their SA on iOS 16.4 for us to be able to get that option. I think in US only T-Mobile has verified SA. AT&T and Verizon also do not currently support SA as far as I know.
We also need to remember that 16.3 was release quite a while back so providers had ample time to get verifed on SA. I am not sure if 16.4 brought a new modem firmware or not but if it did that could also be one of the reaons why new modem firmware currently does not not have the Provider’s SA verified.
Just a thought.
It seems to be that you are using dual SIM, please make sure that you are choosing the correct SIM in field test menu.
Don’t worry you are on SA network as Jio only serve SA network and that’s why the Standalone toggle switch is missing on iOS 16.4 as there is no use of that cause Apple switched SA on as default for Jio 5G.

Same here for me. 5G standalone toggle is missing. I am from India & my carrier is JIO
You would become enlightened if you read the thread you posted to. JIO’s network is now all 5G SA, so there is no need for a switch.

I have also noticed that the standalone toggle is missing after updating to iOS 16.4 but I am able to use Jio 5G without any problem. I think as Jio only uses standalone technology, therefore there is no use of giving a standalone toggle button. For example, we have seen this kind of thing earlier as you may have noticed that there is it VOLTE toggle button available for Airtel users, but VOLTE button is not available for Jio customers users Jio only uses VOLTE to make calls.
You can reset network settings under general >> reser or transfer >> reser network settings
after that you will be able to use 5g if it’s available in you city just turn on this setting
Mobile data >> Mobile data options >> voice & data >> 5g auto or 5g on
same for me and i did network reset after that jio 5g start working. Reason SA mode missing is Jio works only SA mode so ios now enbaled by default SA so now you cant turn of SA to NSA.
Solution... Just do network reset in reset iphone option and then select 5g on again.
Yes, that is exactly what you should see, because Jio’s network is ALL 5G Standalone, so there is no point in having a switch to turn on what is already on.
