As far as my understanding goes 5G (SA) and 5G (NSA) is a technology provided by Cellular Operators in India based on the infrastructure they have or used.
I am unable to understand how mobile users can choose between the two different technology infrastructures.
Please understand this...
5G (Fifth Generation) mobile technology has two deployment options: Stand Alone (SA) and Non-Stand Alone (NSA).
Overall, SA 5G is considered to be the more advanced and desirable deployment option for 5G networks, while NSA 5G allows for a more gradual transition to the new technology.
I have 5g activated by my operator Jio. But after 5g stand-alone option was taken out, I am not able to use. Request developers to consider of bringing this option again.
It’s because you are on LTE, may be 5G is not currently available in your area. Reply with your area name.
Yes, that is exactly what you should see, because Jio’s network is ALL 5G Standalone, so there is no point in having a switch to turn on what is already on.
After upgrading to ios 16.5 5g auto and 5g on option grayed out for Jio sim…what to do now?
Post a screenshot.
You’re must be using physical SIM, can you confirm this?
if yes then visit nearest JIO store and ask for a SIM replacement or eSIM.
M using esim
Please share screenshots and your location
I’m using one eSIM & one physical SIM, both are JIO and I’m using 5G without any issue.
I would recommend you contacting JIO for more info.
Which IOS version you use
16.5
Are you getting the 5G Stand-alone option can you post screenshot of 5g setting
On which iPhone model you are having the issue, in your screenshot I’ve noticed that the signal bar is on top left corner where mine is on top right corner.
Iphone Se 3rd generation
I think your phone is absolutely fine, may be 5G is not available in your location. And if you were getting 5G on same location then just reset your network settings.
