Apple Studio Display shows black screen on start up after updating to firmware 16.4 (Build 20E246)

I updated my Mac Studio to Ventura 13.3, and my Studio Display to firmware version 16.4 (Build 20E246).

Since doing so, upon starting up the Mac Studio, the Studio Display powers on, but shows a perpetual black screen. The "fix" is to unplug the USB-C cable in the back of the Studio Display, and plug it back in. Then the display works. Is there a way to more permanently fix this issue so that removing the USB cable isn't necessary each time I boot up the Mac Studio? Thanks.

I just returned from my local Apple Store. Everything is beautiful now. 😉 The tech had to restore the Studio Display after a brief diagnosis. He told me that sometimes a software update download doesn't go right or that there could have been a wifi interruption of some type. He had to perform a 10 minute SOFTWARE REVIVE, as my emailed receipt shows. Since the Studio Display is under warranty, there was no charge, of course.

As a note to everyone, including Apple, that suggests to disconnect the power cable or Thunderbolt cable for whatever period of time, those approaches don't always work. I'm glad it worked for you. It didn't for me, hence the need to go to the Apple store for a revival of sorts.

My Apple display just went black and that was the end of it. I ordered a new Samsung, but if I can find a way to wake it up I much prefer my Apple monitor. I am currently on a View Sonic while wearing my sunglasses. It's so darn bright that I was getting a headache and there is no way to control the brightness. Needless to say, I hate this monitor. I'm a professional photographer and the parrots I photograph need to be the precise colors that they look like in real life. I am wondering if it can be fixed? I would have to drive to a larger town than where I am since this is a crummy little town with nothing here. Has anyone ever had an Apple display go black on them? Thanks.

My Apple monitor went black a few days ago. I've been on a Mac since before the internet was even invented. I don't want to lug the monitor to a store if I can help it since any store is many miles away ... so I set up my little view Sonic which I never used with a PC that I have and it's so darn bright I'm using my sunglasses. No way to control brightness and it's a small monitor to boot. I just purchased a Samsung. It isn't here yet but the Apple agent said it was a good monitor and affordable. We will see. I want my Apple monitor back. ****.
