Apple Studio Display shows black screen on start up after updating to firmware 16.4 (Build 20E246)

My Apple display just went black and that was the end of it. I ordered a new Samsung, but if I can find a way to wake it up I much prefer my Apple monitor. I am currently on a View Sonic while wearing my sunglasses. It's so darn bright that I was getting a headache and there is no way to control the brightness. Needless to say, I hate this monitor. I'm a professional photographer and the parrots I photograph need to be the precise colors that they look like in real life. I am wondering if it can be fixed? I would have to drive to a larger town than where I am since this is a crummy little town with nothing here. Has anyone ever had an Apple display go black on them? Thanks.

My Apple monitor went black a few days ago. I've been on a Mac since before the internet was even invented. I don't want to lug the monitor to a store if I can help it since any store is many miles away ... so I set up my little view Sonic which I never used with a PC that I have and it's so darn bright I'm using my sunglasses. No way to control brightness and it's a small monitor to boot. I just purchased a Samsung. It isn't here yet but the Apple agent said it was a good monitor and affordable. We will see. I want my Apple monitor back. ****.

The only way I get mine to work is to unplug it, replace the fuse, and plug it in. It always works, but the fuse thats been replaced is still OK, since its a wonder as to why, but its been like this for a few years now.

What I’m saying is that doesn’t always work. Apple suggests that to restore a monitor, but, as in my case, that didn’t work as I stated above.

Perhaps an apple Tech would do us the courtesy of explaining how to perform a "software revive" on the Studio Display.

Sadly, the update to Sonoma was what caused this problem for me, and no amount of unplugging, etc . . . will fix it. Looks like a trip to the Apple Store.

I just found the same thing. I am 2 hours from any Apple Store. Support was no help. They say these problems are rare.
