Raw decode on DJI drone DNG files broken by macOS Ventura 13.3

Confirm, no issue in 13.4

Hi,

I've downloaded a .DNG file on internet here : https://www.dpreview.com/sample-galleries/2271796398/dji-mini-3-pro-sample-gallery/6272481826 and I face your issue on 13.3.1(a).

macos 13.4 beta 4 has just been published, if someone can test with this beta version if the issue still occurs ?

DJI is not responsible. How is DJI responsible? Before the update 13.3.1 we didn't have this issue. Once we updated to 13.3.1 the images are no longer supported. So basically the latest macOS Ventura 13.3 has broken support for RAW images on a apple Mac

Everyone running Ventura 13.3.1 has the same problem. Ventura 13.4 should be out next week and hopefully the issue will be fixed.

It was reported on Mavicpilots.com that it only happens when shooting RAW+JPG and if you just shoot RAW it's not a problem. I don't know if that is the case. Can anyone confirm or deny that comment? Once again glad I waited before updating....so appreciate all of you early updaters.

Not trying to give Apple too much room here but it's possible the DJI files were "broken" before 13.3 but the prior macOS version were also broken and didn't manifest the issue. Lots of moving pieces but the fact that we have an escalated issue per above means at least Apple engineers will get eyes on the problem. Progress.

For what it's worth, no joy in ACDSee Photo Studio 9 (v9.292740) in the View mode though the thumbnail view for the same image seems to be OK. That's using the "RAW Decode" option in View. Switching it to "Embedded Preview" clears it up. That implies ACDSee is doing something different than the RAW decoder it's using (assuming Apple's).

I also have the same problem. Unable to use the "Previews" software to display .dng correctly.

You must necessarily switch to another software.

Really annoying problem, considering that .dng are professional formats used extensively by professionals.

I have the same issue with Mavic 3, not only the still image looks corrupted in MacOS 13.3.1 (22E261) PreView, but also in Final Cut Pro X. Hope Apple could solve this issue soon.

Mavic 2 Pro's DNG/13.3.1 - same bug. Hope Apple will fix it in next update

FWiW, it's not DNG files that are the problem. It's DJI DNG files.

You are more than welcome to try out the public beta version for yourself.

I can confirm too. The issue is now fixed!

Definitely a known issue on Mac with the DNG files. Our drone company has a number of DJI drones and right now they are all doing that on the latest macOS
