iPhone 13 Pro Max portrait camera is unable to zoom out

I just did the most recent software update and ever since then my portrait mode is stuck in 3x zoom. I’ve done a hard reset and it didn’t change anything. I’ve tried clicking the 3x in the lower left hand corner and it doesn’t switch to 1x, it just stays on 3x.

My regular camera also doesn’t let me zoom out anymore, it defaults to 2x and then I have to manually change it to 1x. It won’t let me zoom out to 0.5x.

Lastly, cinematic video won’t work, it’s just a blurred screen when I try to use it. I do not have any preserve settings turned on other than Live Photo.

How do I fix this?

I am having the same issue. Wasn’t able to fix it. Not happy about the update because it happened after I did that. Also have an alert saying my phone detects a new camera (I have never replaced my camera in my iPhone)

Im currently using IOS update 17.2.1 for my IPhone 13 Pro. It was exactly 3 updates ago, when my .5 wide angle camera feature would no longer work. I also see an error in settings saying that its broken due to a non-genuine apple part. After updating to the previous firmware before 17.2.1, the camera on Portrait mode is stuck in x3 zoom. Firmware 17.2.1 has not fixed any of the aforementioned issues. On top of that, Apple is telling us that our devices are using a non apple part within our phone which is why the camera isn’t working. If the portrait camera on your iPhone won't zoom out, there are a few things you can try:

  1. Make sure you are using the correct camera mode: The portrait camera mode on an iPhone doesn't support zooming it only has depth of field effect. Making the background blur.
  2. If you are using the portrait camera mode, switch to the standard camera mode by swiping left or right until you see the "Photo" option.
  3. Check if the zoom feature is disabled: If you are in the standard camera mode and the zoom feature is still not working, it's possible that it has been disabled. To check this, go to Settings > Camera and make sure that the "Magnifier" option is turned off.
  4. Restart your iPhone: Sometimes, restarting your iPhone can help resolve software-related issues. To do this, press and hold the Power button until the "Slide to Power Off" option appears, and then slide the power off switch. Wait a few seconds, and then press and hold the Power button again until the Apple logo appears.
  5. Reset all settings: If the above solutions don't work, you can try resetting all settings on your iPhone. Go to Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings. This will not erase any data on your iPhone but will reset all settings to their default values.
  6. Contact Apple Support: If the issue persists, it's possible that there may be a hardware issue with your iPhone's camera. You can contact Apple Support for further assistance or schedule an appointment with an Apple Store.

There is no fix for this so far. Im having the exact same issue with the portrait mode being stuck in x3(this dude:SravanKrA’s Profile - Apple Community said its not possible to zoom in on portrait mode)🤦‍♂️, wide angle camera no longer working, and blurry cinematic video. Apples suggestion on this is to reset your phone completely(did this 3 times and no help), go to apple and PAY for a fix(even though the update broke the camera). If you go to settings you may see an error that says your phone is not using a genuine apple part, which only showed up after the update. The fix for this is to A.) get the IPhone 15(the camera is worse) or think about changing to a non-apple product cause apple’s solution for these issues is to pay for a fix or to get a new iPhone
