Have you reset the remote and redone the pairing between your remote and ATV box?

My Siri Remote is about a year older than yours. It only needs recharging every 6-9 months.

That's odd. It's not a common problem and I doubt it's a recently introduced bug. Does the remote seem to be working as designed otherwise? Occassionally the Siri remote goes funky and starts causing random actions on the ATV4K box and/or the connected TV via IR.

If the problem persists, open a ticket with Apple Support and/or take it in for a warranty replacement.

We had this problem with an Apple TV 4K remote we bought only 3-4 months ago. Followed the instructions in the Apple Support article linked here and it worked. It also fixed some other problems we were having with the remote, mainly involving adjusting TV volume.

My issue started yesterday. First time ever I got a notice that the battery was almost drained. Charged it to 100% yesterday and now today again I'm getting notice that it's almost drained. Tried chatting with Apple support and their answer was to take it into a store. AppleTV was new in 12/2021. I think it's a little soon for it not to hold a charge any longer. 16.4.1 (20L498) is the OS version.

Same issue, sent over for repair and apple sent back without doing any repair and no explanation. I did twice what's described in the article. Now what? Apparently I'm supposed to be on a call with Senior Staff to describe all over what I already described, probably to not get anything from it. The remote is probably worth $5.

Still at 99% about 18 hours later. Thank you so much. The remote reset did it. I'll be able to send the replacement back and keep my $59. Thanks again.

Ive got the exakt same issue, charged it yeasterday then only used it for a couple of hours then today it is at 2% again. It must be a bug. Nerver had Any issue with it before

I had the same issue & tried all the troubleshooting. It was a faulty battery. Apple sent me a new remote since it’s under warranty. The replacement doesn’t drain anymore.

I did reset the remote (based upon your suggestion here - thank you) and it seems like it's holding the charge longer. I'll know for sure after more time passes. Would be wonderful to return the replacement I ordered. Thanks again for your suggestions.

hi, i had to do it 2-3 times, maby i did it wrong the first time i don't know but it dident work for me the first time so i did it again and again and now its all fine and i havent charged my remote for months

I have the Apple TV 4K 2021, and recently my battery on my remote is going out a lot faster than usual, it was at 100% yesterday and now it is at 45% and is getting worse.

Firmware version is 0x0070 tvOS 16.5

How long is a full charge lasting you all, with just an hour or two use per day? I have re-paired mine, but it sure doesn't last as long as my other (older) 4k AppleTVs. For me a full charge lasts maybe one to two weeks, whereas my other remotes lasted months.
