How long will I get security updates for MacOS Catalina?

Many here says security updates to Catalina will end in 2022. But now it is 2023 March and I still get security updates and new releases of Catalina on my iMac Late 2013 which for time beein runs Catalina 10.15.7. So I continue to use it. It is strange how good it is compared with my iMac 24 inch M1 from 2021 which runs Ventura.

Maybe the reason is I upgraded the harddisk in my old iMac 2013 with a new Sata SSD. Splitting the screen from the computer was a nervous-wrecking half our task that almost cracked the display outer glass shield.

So the question is how long will Apple release security updates and new versions for Catalina and nobody seems to know and a lot of people tries to guess wrongly.

The only one I believe in here is Apple itself, but I have not been able to find any list from them with end date of their systems yet. Microsoft on the other hand, gives out such information, and everyone now knows that Windows 7 and previous versions is not anymore a supported systems and dangerous to use.

Regards from a Windows specialist in Norway.

I use Microsoft Office web-version in full version in Safari with no problems!!

But no one has given me a valid Apple statement and link from Apple that the support for Catalina has ended. A lot of third party companies say so, but Apple has not stated it yeat according to what I can find on internet. So the iMac 2013 remains here in full use untill Apple itself tells me I should not!!

FWIW, the web version of Office is not the same as the stand-alone versions

You can continue to use Catalina for as long as it suits your purpose. It's still no longer supported. 😎
