Add a line above footer page number, for all pages

Add a delimiter line above footer page number, for all pages. I did this (somehow) with an old pages release. I edited an old doc's footer and deleted the line, which had yellow boxes at each end. I can't find a way to restore it. Help!

The header and footer in Pages are not table cells, so you cannot alter the appearance of the segment outline. You can insert a suitable line segment in your body text, and position it just above the page number cell. Then you can select the Arrange menu > Section Layouts > Move Object to Section Layout. On the given section, that locks that line segment beneath any body text and directly above the page number segment.
