I get the message "com.apple.extensionKit.errorDomain error 15." on my MacBook Pro macOS Ventura when I try to access Internet Accounts.

When attempting to access Internet Accounts I'm given the error "com.apple.extensionKit.errorDomain error 15."

Any ideas what this is or how to resolve it?

I had the same issue with my ethernet settings. However it could be solved as follows:

Go to settings -> network

click on the ... on the right below.

Add a service

Service Name: Ethernet 2

Interface: Ethernet

This will added as "not connected"

"Right" click on Ethernet

Select remove.

The new generated interface gets connected.

It is safe to rename the new interface back to Ethernet

Solved!

I have had this same error warning since at least April 20th, 2023. I have reported it, and notified Apple Support of the issue..they are definitely aware of it, but I'm guessing they are still struggling to fix this situation.

At least for me, when I access my iCloud Account through the "Internet Accounts" tab in Settings...the iCloud settings page is much slower to operate especially when you compare the speed and efficiency that same settings page receives when instead being accessed through my AppleID settings. I have noticed though, that the times I never received the error message in Internet Accounts, was because I was exceptionally slow with my keyboard clicks and trackpad scrolls...

I don't get the message when I go to my other Internet Accounts Settings...the issue has only occurred when trying to access iCloud Account Settings.

If such is a similar case to you, then I might suggest simply ignore accessing your iCloud settings through Internet Accounts, and instead just access your settings through AppleID.

If such is not a similar situation to yours, then my suggestion would be to just maneuver around with as little scrolling and clicking around as possible, and just adjust whichever settings you need to adjust painstakingly slow.

Unfortunately, I don't believe there is really an actual "fix" to this just yet. There was some speculation online that it may be an "Intel Processor Issue" but I was confirmed by Apple Support when I was on the phone with them, that this issue persists even on the apple M1 chips.

I also had "com.apple.extensionKit.errorDomain error 15"

For me, after a reboot (system got slow) my Keyboard Maestro would not work.

Requested permission Security & Privacy,

but adding it to the list did not take.

Solution appears to be:

Reboot in Recovery.

Do First Aid on MacHD (and also Recovery partition) (and also an external drive) .

Reboot normally.

All ok now.

I have this same problem but with Screen Saver. I was browsing through some screen saver, picking and trying them one by one and this triggered as I selected one of them, 1st column, 2nd to the last row I believe. And ever since I am unable to set screensaver. This pops up every time I try to go into Screen Saver settings. Wallpaper works fine.

I did this and it worked:

There was a typo in the steps above, here's the correction:

Step 1. open a terminal, then paste in this:

mkdir ~/Desktop/backupjunk
mv ~/Library/Application\ Support/iCloud/Accounts/* ~/Desktop/backupjunk

Step 2. save your stuff and reboot the computer

Step 3. - try opening facetime and configuring your account settings.

I think this was the first issue I encountered with my MacBook Pro M1.

My solution was pretty much as below:

Was trying to check my personal information on the Apple ID, to alter some iCloud subscription details, and would get the error 15.

As I was allowed to sign out my ID, I did that and, on signing back in (including authorizing on my iPhone)... the error resolved itself.

HI

The problem I'm experiencing is related to the iMovie update, but I don't think it's the only application causing problems. To solve the problem, you can try adding a new service in the network settings by going to System Preferences > Network > Add Service (bottom right, click on the ...).

When you add the new service, be sure to remove any previous failed services.

This may help resolve network connection problems.

Got this error when I tried to add two iCloud accounts to the same Mac. Account 1 was created on the new (M2) Mac, and is an unpaid iCloud account. Account 2 was created a long time ago, probably on an iPhone in the 2010s, and is a paid iCloud account. I tried to add Account 2 to the Mac with Account 1. System Preferences → Internet Accounts definitely lets you add two accounts, but after adding, my System Preferences window because extremely slow/laggy. Navigating within the window yielded this error.

Then I figured this is probably a bad idea, so I tried to remove Account 2 with the Delete Account button, and it did not remove, just stayed there under multiple labels including "Inactive" and "Unknown". I clicked Delete Account several times, but Account 2 remained. Tried to restart my computer multiple times, still not removed. My profile picture associated with Account 2 also showed up on the log in screen, even though I theoretically removed it. Then I googled and found some answers on this forum saying that you "can't add two accounts to the same user account on the same Mac". Well... it turns out you certainly can, it will just brick iCloud. I tried Carky's solution, still no fix.

Now reinstalling the OS.

I found a fix for this error:

go to network settings. In Other Services control click old connection (mine was AX88179a)and select Delete. I chose to option to restore when plugged back in. When I plugged my usb C to Cat5 dongle back in it worked right away.

I encountered this error while trying to assign my network address manually so that my ATEM video switcher would interface with the software via Ethernet.

hopes this helps.

I got this error when trying to give permission to various apps in the Privacy and Security section of System Settings in Ventura. I tried all of the suggestions I could find here and elsewhere, but alas, none of them worked. What did finally work for me was to back up my boot disk to an external drive, reinstall Ventura and then migrate everything back from the external drive. Now it works like a charm. This was time-consuming, but my system is much cleaner and happier now.

I get the message "com.apple.extensionKit.errorDomain error 15." on my MacBook Pro macOS Ventura when I try to access Internet Accounts.
