iPhone iMessage Showing Tiny Video Thumbnail

I am having the same issue as this post, but I do not see a post on how to resolve. iPhone iMessage Showing Tiny Video Thumbn… - Apple Community

The issue happens when I am on Cellular. I have message forwarding enabled for both my macbook and iPad. When my phone is on cellular, the video shows small on both ipad and mac. I was playing with settings and turned of message forwarding. when the a video was resent while on cellular it came through on my phone as small again, but then when i went on mac and ipad, it came through as a normal size video.

Is the issue that imessage is not working on cellular, although pictures and messages are coming in as normal with the appropriate imessage bubbles. this seems to be isolated to video only, and has been happening for some time, even after iphone updates.

Its rather frustrating and would like to resolve. I have tried everything i could think of.

Hi there VJS90,

If videos and pictures are displaying smaller than expected in the Messages app only when your iPhone is connected to cellular data, the first thing we would recommend is updating your iPhone to the latest version of iOS. This installs feature improvements and bug fixes that can resolve unexpected behavior like this. These steps from Update your iPhone or iPad show how to back up and update:

1. Back up your device using iCloud or your computer.

2. Plug your device into power and connect to the internet with Wi-Fi.

3. Go to Settings > General, then tap Software Update.

4. If you see more than one software update option available, choose the one that you want to install.

5. Tap Install Now. If you see Download and Install instead, tap it to download the update, enter your passcode, then tap Install Now. If you don't know your passcode, learn what to do.

If this continues to occur after updating your iPhone, then let's next see if this happens in multiple locations where you have a stronger or weaker cellular data connection. That will allow us to isolate if the strength of the cellular network is responsible for this issue.
