2013 Macbook Pro black screening

My macbook pro black screens every time I wake it from sleep. It runs on macos Catalina. It occasionally completely turns on every once in a while, but then black screens once I put it to sleep. I’ve already tried resetting the SMC, resetting the PRAM, reinstalling macos, and just doing a normal restart. Booting it in safe mode doesn’t work either.

It also gives me a kernel panic error every time I do successfully wake it from the black screen. I have woken it before by placing my finger in the middle of the trackpad and holding the power button, but it only works occasionally.

MacBook Pro 15″, macOS 10.15

Post several of the Kernel Panics here for us to examine. The Kernel Panic logs files have names beginning with "kernel" and are located in "/Libarary/Logs/DiagnosticReports". Post them here using the "Additional Text" icon which looks like a piece of paper.

If you have the 15" model, then you may be encountering a GPU issue. GPU issues have been common with the 15" & 17" Macs for many years including the 2013 model.

Have you tried installing macOS to an external USB3 SSD and booting from the external SSD to see if you have the same issues? If this works, then perhaps the internal SSD is the problem.
