App name blurry

I’d suspect this iPhone has a weird hardware problem, if the reset doesn’t clear the issue.

Or a quite unusual iOS bug (or other critter), given the relative dearth of reports around here.

This problem also started occurring for me after the iOS 16.4.1 update — I haven't found that changing my automatic dark mode/light mode settings have helped at all. The only solution I have found is to restart my phone, which sadly is very inconvenient to do several times a day!

You can change/fix it through the Wallpaper setting.

Go to setting - wallpaper - customize.

The text color default I think is gray so you would need to adjust it when customizing your wallpaper.

That iPhone seems to be having a hardware issue, or there’s a low-level issue with iOS. Update to current iOS, and test again. Then contact Apple Support.

Many users who have updated to the latest iOS must have a similar issue if the issues stated by you are due to the iOS.

Unless you state what the issue is many in this forum may not be able to respond positively to the issue you are facing.

I had the same problem after the update on my phone too. I just got a new phone this week. It wasn’t blurred. I then did the newest update to “fix” security problems 16.4.1 (a) & guess what??!! All of the app names are blurred! Apple…get it fixed!!!

I tried to power down the phone. The power button did not work at all. I turned it off with short tap on volume up then short tap on volume sown and then hold power. That did work to turn off the phone. After turning it back on, the blur was fixed, but only temporarily. It is back again.

I never had automatic dark mode on, but now will look into that suggested fix, in case somehow that got messed up too.

This all happened after a software update (quick response security update or some such thing)

Not lethal, since most icons I recognize, but still pretty annoying. Makes you wonder what else has gone wrong.

How?

I just updated my phone to IOS 16 a couple days ago. I turned my phone off yesterday and just turned it back on and now my home screen is black. Also, random app names or folder names are blurred! What the heck is this, and how do you solve it?

Apple please fix the bug!

This is a brand new problem which started this morning after updating to iOS 16.4.1(a)
