audi mmi won't toggle songs since latest iPhone update (16.4)

I updated my iPhone 14 pro max to iOS 14.6

Now my 2017 Audi A5 mmi is not able to control the apple music.

The screen appears as normal and I can see all of the playlists.

The dial to choose songs will move and highlight a song but it won't launch the selected song.

The bump forward/reverse on the volume knob does its job.

Same on the steering wheel (forward/backward works / Toggling and selecting a song in the playlist does not)

I have tried a hard restart on both the Audi system and my iPhone.

The toggle features works everywhere in the mmi besides of bluetooth Audio.

Seems like an apple issue.

Any help would be appreciated.

Issue is solved

Hello,

today I have installed last update 16.5.1 and all problems was fixed. I have Iphone 11 Pro and before the current update I couldn't toggle song, increase/decrease volume, screen was stuck on "Loading....".

My 2018 rs5 has the same issue. The MMI knob functions correctly on all menus and CarPlay except being able to select a song on the Bluetooth menu. This is a major inconvenience.

No it isn't. My RS5 m.y. 2018 works fine with Iphone 14 Pro , iOS 16.5 with latest available MMI MHI2Q fw.

I’m glad someone is working on this. I am having the exact same issue. It will change the song if I’m just in my song list or I go to a specific artist but won’t toggle on any of my playlists.

This happened a couple of years ago and it took awhile for apple to fix.

Apple support is worthless concerning this issue. The only way it can be fixed is with a update to IOS. If enough people complain they will pass it onto the programmers.

Won’t work for me iOS 17.02. Had no issues before iOS 17, now cannot toggle playlists.

Was this issue ever resolved or answered by Apple? It is definitely an ios issue since the control work perfectly with Spotify.

Both CarPlay and Siri worked as expected on the Audi infotainment system I’ve tested, with iOS 16.4.1. Didn’t try the Audi MMI path, but the knob did work as expected with CarPlay.

I am having the same exact issue on 2016 Acura TLX. I use the knob to browse and populate my playlist but when I select a song, it doesn't play or do anything. I've tried USB mode as well and it does the same exact thing. Started happening around a month or two ago so I'm assuming iOS 16.4.

Changing songs (+1/-1) using the volume knob by clicking right/left never been an issue here. It remains the only way to change songs on the mmi (in a playlist I mean)

the issue is selecting a specific song with the central knob, which was possible, been using it for years, and it stopped working with the 16.4 update.

and still not working with 16.5

Need to clarify a bit

I started this conversation, and it was about an issue selecting songs in playlists, with the central knob, while using Bluetooth audio on an audi A5 2017 mmi.

1 - never mentioned apple CarPlay

2 - everything was fine the day before the iOS update

3 - central knob has no problem navigating in the mmi, except playlists

4 - does work in “my music” tho

You would think they would monitor these groups to see customer issues , I report the issue to Apple and spoke to several of their alleged top tech advisors and none of the the fixes they offered helped , rebooted phone , lost passwords and data in process vey inconvenient, last advisor I spoke seemed helpful, e mail me back he said it’s something I want to help you fix but he never replied, maybe one day , if there was any way off transferring I tunes to d be off
