Your battery has reached the critical point of its life, and, be careful, it can have unpredictable behavior.

1st thing to do: create a full backup of your iPhone, before the battery dies completely.

2nd: get an estimate of your battery replacement, using this link:--> Choose Your Country or Region

3rd: make an appointment (*) and have your battery replaced at an Apple Store or AASP (Apple Authorized Service Provider) among this list:--> https://locate.apple.com/choose-country-region .

79% is not healthy and is the level at which Apple recommends replacing the battery. So have the battery replaced and your iPhone will then charge normally:

Since you mentioned already in another comment that the battery is original, check whether the iPhone’s charging port is clean or a little dirty. If it’s a little clotted with dirt or debris then gently with a toothpick cleanse the port properly from side to side, DO NOT directly poke the charging port head on because that can damage the port. If you are not confident, head down to any technical shop and let them clean it for you.

this is just a simple method, if not working then your battery may have completed its life cycle and would require either a service or a complete replacement.

hope this helped.
