iPhone Lock Screen Wallpaper Pair Sync

On iOS 16.4, when I set a time-based Lock Screen and wall paper pair such as Earth or Earth Detail, the Lock Screen correctly updates the image of earth based on the time of day. However, the wallpaper remains stuck on the original time the Lock Screen Wallpaper pair was set. This becomes obvious when you unlock the phone and there is a noticeable jump in the appearance of the earth.

Please check if your iPhone disconnected from WiFi when the iPhone is locked.

When your iPhone is locked, it may still be connected to the internet if it has a Wi-Fi or cellular data connection. Here's how to check if your device is connected to the internet when the screen is locked on an iPhone:

  1. Wake up your iPhone: Press the home button or the power button to wake up your device.
  2. Check the status bar: Look at the status bar at the top of your screen. If you see Wi-Fi or cellular signal bars, your device is connected to the internet.
  3. Test your internet connection: If you want to test your internet connection, try accessing a website or opening an app that requires an internet connection. If the website or app loads, your device is connected to the internet.

Note that some apps may require you to unlock your device before they can access the internet, even if your device is connected. Additionally, some apps may have restrictions on their internet usage when the device is locked for security reasons.

Thanks, but this does not appear to be a problem. The phone is connected to the internet even while locked. To clarify this is in reference to the iOS native built-in dynamic lock screen / wallpaper pairs such as "Earth." The appearance of the Earth on the lock screen updates as the day progresses and the position of the sunlight changes. This change is not applied to the background image when the phone is unlocked, resulting in a jarring change between the lock screen and the wallpaper during unlock.
