Apple TV - airplay playing Black screen with sound

I bought a new apple tv 4k (2021 model).

I have a MacBook Air (m1)

iPhone XS max.

the Apple TV works perfectly good except for disney plus.

when I airplay a movie from Disney plus from the iPhone to my MacBook Air - it works perfect.

when I try to airplay from my iPhone to the new Apple TV - it shows black screen with sound.

I tried almost everything. Hard Reset, bought a new Hdmi cable , changed input locations. I played with the settings of the video outputs, all of the devices are connected to the same WiFi network and are updated to the latest version .... I don't know what to do! if someone here knows what is the issue and how to fix it id really appreciate it - since everything works perfect except for this.

The app is working for many other users on their Apple TV box, so it seems that your situation is exceptional.

Update your Apple TV system software to the current version, if not done already. How to update your Apple TV - Apple Support

Try this for any misbehaving app:

Force-quit the app, then relaunch and try again.
If the issue persists, force-quit the app, restart the device, then relaunch and try again.
If the issue still persists, delete the app, re-download and try again.
If the issue still persists, then contact the app developer for further assistance.

For HDCP issues, verify that all components in the setup are HDCP compliant. That includes monitors, cables, adapters, switches, splitters, audio extractors, receivers, extenders, etc. — anything in between Apple TV box and the pixels that you can see. This would normally affect all apps with commercial content, though. If other apps with copy-protected content do not black out, then HDCP probably isn’t the issue.

Your Apple TV box allows installing the Disney+ app, so you do not have to AirPlay at all. Recommended by Disney for the best experience.

Note: Due to a technical issue, streaming Disney+ Basic (with ads) via Apple Airplay may not be currently available.

AirPlay should work for other plans, though. Try using the in-app AirPlay controls, instead of Screen Mirroring.

Apple TV 4K (2nd generation) should be supported just fine.

disney + app does not work on apple tv- its the same black screen with sound.

and today sadly another app isnt showing its vod content.

btw a cheaper streamer is working perfectly fine with all those apps with no issues.

i just bought the apple tv and i might need to send it to the apple lab for testing…

Hey

yeah ive updated apple tv and disney plus. Deleted many times and reinstalled it. Checked literally every aspect you wrote. I appreciate it.

i send it to the lab today i hope they will find and fix the problem or give me an apple tv that works.
