Update Apple ID Settings doesn't go off

Hi All, The update apple id settings notification on my phone does not go off despite entering the correct password. This thing keeps looping back to the screen asking to update Apple id settings. The verification does not fail either when I enter the apple id password as the password entered is correct. I have tried :(a) resetting the phone (b) signing out and signing back in with my apple id, but nothing seems to work to remove this notification. Need help
