Just turned on the set in the living room to see if I note other problems. BTW, I recall nothing about light sensitivity. Doesn't mean I haven't accessed/utilized it, though. I'm an ancient geek.
First thing that reminded me of difference in approach...is that I go SETTINGS > PICTURE > ETC. Overwhelmingly, do not go SETTINGS > GENERAL > etc. Not saying it can't be done. I've just found direct to picture settings most effective for me.
And like most TV geeks in my small circle over the years, I started out with getting the Apple TV hardware at opening day. Couple gens ago. Stayed current. Just realized I may mislead you by my automatic procedure. The Apple TV has room for beaucoup apps. I login and start via Sling App...Not Apple TV app. Though I AM using the Apple TV hardware which I presume is running the ATV app as native. I have 30/40 apps on my Apple TV and mostly use Sling, ATV (the Apple + TV app), Acorn, Paramount, Peacock...but, the "settings" I start with is what is in the ATV box.
