Apple TV asking me to start a trial when I have a subscription

I was watching a show, tried to go to the next episode and it asked me to “try for free” and get a subscription. I already have a subscription of 6.99/month. I clicked try it free button anyways but it said I already had a subscription. I tried all the recommended fixes. I restarted my iPhone, I delete and reinstalled the app and I logged out and logged back in. It still is not working. How do I fix this? Surely not going to keep paying for a subscription I cannot use!

This doesn't work. I'm signed in. My account is active. My subscription is active. My payment information is up to date.

It STILL asks me to start a free trial.

Why am I paying for this?

The answer to this whole issue is to have the original member who signed up with apple

- go to his/her settings

-select their name/apple ID/icloud/media/ purchases

-scroll down until you find “family sharing “

-add in family member and their email address

-this should then show up in the same place on the new family members settings.

  • follow any additional prompts
  • you should not be asked to sign in or asked to buy a subscription
  • this worked like a charm. But you gave to have the original persons original email and password to work.

To fix the problem of not being able to sign into Apple TV,

*Have the person who signed up for the Account with Apple TV go to their settings,

  • scroll down to Family Sharing

this should show tgat person’s name

  • have that person add you and your information
  • this should then show up in your settings as family Sharing
  • that should do it! You should not need to sign in to Apple TV , it should open when you tsp on the app.

My problemstarted when I used Migration Assistant to transfer data from one MacMini to another. It broke my icloud connection to ios. i could see it at icloud.com, but the apps were not connecting. At some point I changed my password.

The cloud is in a different department? I got knocked off a support chat when he asked me to start in safe mode. They dont use imessage, so i will take my problem to the genius bar.

i think they are not as conesive as their brand image.

This is really frustrating, and reading through the comments it sounds like there a various things to try depending on the device you're using. In my case, I was getting having the 'free trial' issue on my apple tv box even though I was signed in on my mobile device, and other things were syncing (like photos) via iCloud. I checked the updates section in 'settings>system>software updates' and even though auto update was enabled, I clicked 'Update Software' - and found that there was an update that the system hadn't automatically applied. I ran the update, went back to Apple TV and the issue was fixed.
