My iPhone wifi gets disconnected when screen is locked

I saw that many had this issue and tried all the basic steps that were mentioned. It’s quite irritating to experience this issue as not always there is a possibility of using mobile data, as well as why should I keep my phone connected to a power? I have purchased MOBILE phone a couple of months ago for convenience not for additional headache (I didn’t have this issue on my previous iPhone). I was sure iPhone was the best but start to doubt really.

the problem still exists and when I lock the screen it switches to mobile data which drains the battery faster (in case the purpose of this function was to save battery).

I also have the 14 pro but I doubt it will work since the problem has persisted since my last iPhone, I had the iPhone 12 and just recently upgraded my phone to the 14 pro and I thought maybe the problem was with my phone and changing phones would solve it but it’s still the same, I’ll try resetting it anyway

This is exactly what has been happening to me and they keep telling me my iPhone has been working the way it should but I have never experienced that before with another iPhone so I know its not normal, I doubt it will ever go away

Plus, my phone still does automatic app updates that are set for Wi-Fi only when it is plugged in and not in battery-saving mode. If it just disconnects itself automatically from Wi-Fi anytime it is idle / screen-off, I wonder how it is magically able to update its apps from that same Wi-Fi when sitting there in the dark without being turned on and prompted...

I don’t know if this is 100% true. I work at NASA & the walls are shielded, so absolutely zero cell service inside my bldg. we rely on our WiFi connection to receive iMessages & for WiFi calling. Had my iPhone XS Max for 5 years and never once had an issue. Just got a 15 Pro Max and it disconnects when locked, so no incoming calls or iMessages until I reconnect to WiFi. Very, very annoying for me

Same exact occurrence on IPhone14ProMax. I’m noticing when certain neighbors WiFi Networks show up in my Settings, it’s common. When their networks don’t show my signal is fine.

Doods not dudes setup in my area. It’s quite uncomfortable, perverts . I end up closing my apps and shutting down until they ( don’t ) get the signal. Good luck .

Every iPhone that has ever been manufactured disconnects Wi-Fi when the screen is locked. This won't change.

Nope, it didn’t work. This is a disaster. Had 3 iphones and this is the first one with this issue. I’m going to definitely change it, this is not practical at all.

I just switched off my “raise to wake”. I’ll see how it does today at work when I have no cell service and post back the results.
