iPhone must be on iOS 16.4.1 to have savings account information and application to apply.
Once you’re updated please follow the steps in this support article,
Set up and use Savings in Apple Wallet - Apple Support
I’d be happy to try and help but it’s impossible for me to follow this thread on an iPhone screen when it’s over 5 pages long an has dozens of participants. If you’d create a brand new post, it’d be easier to respond and resolve your issues. Sorry but on an iPhone screen it’s impossible to follow.
It might be rolling out slowly.
Yes, I read the link. It talks about adding money from a chosen source. Since the Apple Card is a credit card why would someone add money to the savings account using their Apple Card, or any other credit card, and not a bank account which is done through Apple Cash. Wouldn’t it be strange to make a deposit from a credit source (with a 20%APR) to the Savings Account (announced as 4.15%)? So you have some extra cash you want to put in the savings account. You add it to Apple Cash and then, using the Apple Card, transfer it to the savings account. You also cannot spend the money in the savings account directly. You have to transfer it to Apple Cash or a Bank Account to do so.
And the option just now appeared for me also @10:38 CST
Sounds unnecessarily complicated to me that the Apple Card would be the gateway.
Have you verified your Apple Cash account? Are you applying with the US?
Are you looking for Daily Cash in your Apple Card in the Wallet app on your iPhone? Daily Cash is >> not << in the Apple Cash account in your Wallet app.
The Apple Savings Account is not necessarily meant to be funded from the credit card (although there is the option to get a cash advance from the credit card and deposit that cash into the Savings Account). Its meant to function as a regular savings account, similar to a savings account that you would open at your local bank, or with a bank like Bank of America, Chase etc. The main difference with this account is that you can manage the account through the Wallet app; it is otherwise just another savings account. It is meant for you to deposit your spare cash into, as well as put the Apple Cash you earn from the credit card usage. It pays 4.15% APR right now, but that rate will rise/fall based on interest rates as controlled by the Federal Reserve.
You have to understand that the Apple Savings account is essentially a Demand Deposit Account with Goldman Sachs Bank; I'm excited to have it soon but at the end of the day, its a savings account that you get to manage thru the Wallet App on your phone.
Similarly, the Apple Card is a standard MasterCard issued thru Goldman Sachs Bank, but "private labeled" thru Apple, with the front-end Wallet app technology to manage it.
If the transaction was yesterday, funds were received today and will show up tomorrow. Just double check tomorrow.
It's May 3rd...very slow rollout
the savings account doesn't show up with the wallet but one can confirm it's there by doing a search.
You’re just directing your Daily Cash into the savings account instead of the Apple Cash card. From there you can add funds from your bank accounts, not from the Apple Card as there are no cash advances
Apple is savvy, increases daily cash balance for Apple to use. Earn interest on your money. Essentially free money in a saving account does not bite anyone. Apple can use it to finance other stuff. Very savvy move financially
Apple messed up badly with the savings account rollout. I have no option to open an account on my card in the WalIet. Waited two and a half hours last night for assistance and then gave up. No one picked up at Apple. Used the chat option only to be told it was not their responsibility. Tried this morning to be told again this was not their responsibility. Incompetence. A complete disaster.
Been trying again this morning to reach customer service. I've been on hold for more than an hour. Apple is completely clueless. I suspect this is a typical marketing scam to get people to get the credit card. Classic bait and switch.
I've checked everything I know to do and do not find a savings option on the wallet app. the bank account info has been added. I tap the card, go to the three dots at the top, hit daily cash, and find a lot of advertisements. No savings option to add. Please help if you can. I am currently trying to upgrade from 16.2 to 16.4 but it is very slow to load.
Hi Jeff, I am trying to set up the saving account in Daily Cash. I have ios 16.4.1 and two-way authentification. when I try to set up the saving acount, it just kept poping up error "Savings Unavailable". Do you have any idea about this? Thanks!
iOS 16.4.1 didn’t update automatically even if Automatic Update was on. The update doesn’t mention Apple Savings in the details. I’m certain there are multitudes of frustrated users in the same dilemma. Apple PR scored 0 on any survey for this venture.
