Hi! Here's a solution that worked for me.

My issue

Every time any water touches my Iphone 14 pro, one of the following issues come up:

  • Not valid sim
  • "no sim", even tho I inserted it

This also happens at random, but rarely.

Today I really got my iphone wet, it fell in the shower (and I think the combo of vibration from fall + water is what got to the SIM tray).

I removed and re-inserted the SIM multiple times, to no avail.

So then I tried removing the SIM tray and leaving it open for 5 minutes. I then put the SIM back in and it now seems to be working fine.

Maybe it just needed to dry.

Hope this helps someone in the future.

Try removing the SIM card and then putting it back in the iPhone. If that does not work, then you can try another SIM from your carrier, however, there is a very good chance that your iPhone has sustained water/liquid damage. Liquid damage cannot be reversed. If you continue to have issues, then have your iPhone examined at the Apple Store or at an Authorized Service Center for further diagnosis and a resolution.
