When dictating, is there a way to spell out an unusual word or name?

For example, I mention someone named (not a real person afaik) Barbaree McAninch. Instead of accepting "barberry McNinch" is there a way to give a command indicating I am going to spell a word letter by letter?

Failing that, what do you recommend as a workaround?

Thanks, @VikingOSX. While reading your link about Voice Control, I found that spelling out a word is a new feature in Ventura.

  • To dictate character by character, say “Spelling Mode,” then speak each character. This feature requires macOS Ventura or later and isn't available in all languages.

This is great because it means I don’t have to anticipate every unusual word or name in advance and teach macOS to recognize it.
