How does the fall gps work on my Apple Watch

I’m new to this community and I’m wondering how my apple series 8 Watch. with GPS WORKS regarding sensing a fall or crash??

The accelerometers attempt to detect the typical patterns involved with what happens to your wrist motion in a fall. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Sometimes it gives a false positive like if you jump off a chair.

If it then detects no movement for some moments it assumes the worst and asks you if you had a fall and if you don't respond it calls 911, 999, whatever your country uses and your emergency contacts.
