Hi, after a full factory reset my iPad does no longer accept my Apple ID credentials. Therefore the configuration cannot continue. Any helpful advice is highly appreciated!

Since that’s NOT your eMail on the screen, the bottom line is that your iPad is locked to a previous owner and will remain unusable to you until THAT owner “releases” the lock.

Hmm… do you have any other Apple devices that you could open find my on? If it shows the iPad that your trying to log into you need to log out of it remotely from https://appleid.apple.com/
It sounds a lot like your iPad is “Activation Locked” to a previous owner.
Is YOUR AppleID displayed on the screen requesting password entry ?
