Flexgate Problem

I have a 16" Macbook Pro and have just experienced this flexgate problem, the screen pops off when i open it up to about 45 degrees, if i go past this point it comes back on, there is about 5-10 degrees where the screen will not work! Why has this just started happening now, is it a hardware issue?

I have noticed there is a recall option for the 13" and 15" models but not this one.

Although i can still work on the computer, it is extremely frustrating when programs restart when the screen goes off.

Can anyone offer any advise on this please and thanks.
